Hench's Hawaiian Holiday! - Day 4

HenchPAC Exclusive - 12/19/04

All right, I failed. I accidentally erased my big surf photos, and didn't take many at Makalei, Matt's exotic home course just minutes from his house in the Kona Palisades. By the way, the surf was the biggest since Big Wednesday in 1998, with faces over 50 feet, and swells as big as 25 feet. "We have a small craft advisory, and land-lubber warning for those of you who are seismographically sensitive" - when the big ones hit, it was like an earthquake that shook the hotel, and bounced your feet off the beach if you were standing on it. I actually had trouble sleeping for a couple nights, as I kept waking up thinking there was a quake, when it was just a surf slammer - Kowabunga man!

Having whined and moaned enough, here are a couple photos from Makalei. I missed getting pictures of the goats, mongeese and other exotic animals that inhabit this course, (I'm NOT talking about Matt,) but I did manage to capture the Peacock family. We had to ask Patron nicely to let us play through:

"OK, but make it snappy, don't hold us up, and make sure you don't hit my ladies out there in the fairway..."

Yep, there's more, click on:
